This afternoon in Mexico City the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce was recognized as one of the leading Chambers in the world for program development. Five years ago we developed a financial literacy program for high school aged children called Funny Money. We started with 5 schools in Cambridge, now we have had the program expand, thanks to our sponsors (Investor Education Fund, Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada) to over 180 high schools each year throughout Canada.
The World Chambers Federation and the International Chamber of Commerce recognized the Cambridge Chamber’s Funny Money Program as the Best Unconventional Chamber Project in the World. Cory McRae Board Chair and program Author James Cunningham (aka The Funny Moneyman) receive the award this afternoon. We are so proud of our organization, we’ve truly come of age when you can be known globally, as a leader in making positive change in this world.
